Capital Metro is seeking public feedback on changes to its transit system. As part of Capital Metro’s regular Summer Service Change, relatively minor adjustments are made and are typically associated with suspension of school-related services. These proposed changes also include minor schedule modifications for improvements in passenger access and reliability. Below are some of the proposed recommendations for the June 2011 Service Change. If approved, these changes will go into effect on Sunday, June 5, 2011.
10 South First/Red River – Permanently realign northbound and southbound service between 45th Street and Bruning Ave (currently a detour) and make minor schedule adjustments.
37 Colony Park and 137 Colony Park Flyer (weekdays) – Consolidate Route 137 into Route 37 and adjust schedule. All current Route 37 stops would be served. The red line is where these routes differ and if consolidated, this route would now offer all day service to entire route.
228 Burleson – Add an early morning round-trip due to ridership demand (5:30 a.m. eastbound and 6 a.m. westbound).
990 Manor/Elgin Express – Formalize closure of Applied Materials bus stop and make minor schedule adjustments. This bus stop did not open as planned for January 2011 service changes.
To improve service, minor route and/or schedule adjustments are possible for the following: Routes 1L/1M, 18, 201, 300 and UT Shuttles (CP, NR, LS and WL).

School Related Fixed Route Suspensions

During the summer, trips and routes that mainly serve students are suspended. All services would be reinstated in the fall of 2011.

University of Texas Shuttle Adjustments

  • Routes in the UT Shuttle system will operate at a summer weekday level. Many routes are paired together to operate as a combined route.
  • 684 CR/RR Cameron Road/ Red River – Permanently realign service between 45th Street and Bruning Ave (currently a detour) and make minor schedule adjustments.
