During this last legislative session, the Texas Legislature passed a law that requires all voters to present an approved ID when voting.  To help the public become aware of these new voter requirements, the Texas Secretary of State, Texas Department of Public Safety, Travis County Voter Registration, City of Austin and Travis County Elections will be conducting a Voter ID Awareness Campaign in early October.

The North Austin YMCA will be hosting a 2-Day Voter ID Awareness Event on 10/3/13 and 10/7/13 (8am-5pm both days).  During the event, DPS will be present to provide election cards for people who do not have any of the acceptable forms of voter identification.  Additionally, Travis County Voter Registration will be present to get folks registered to vote.
