CodeNEXT Team will be unveiling the first draft of the Land Development Code at the end of this month. On February 1st, we invite all Austinites to see the code and meet with the Consultants and Staff who wrote the code at our Roll Out event from 4-6 pm at Palmer Events Center. At this event, you’ll be able to take a self-guided tour through previous code products, find out how the new has improved, and learn about the multiple opportunities in which you can provide feedback. While the purpose of the event is to introduce the code to the public through an open house setting, a presentation briefing the CodeNEXT Advisory Group (CAG) will close the event from 6:30-8:30 pm.
We hope you will join us in celebrating the release of the new code and the kick-off of an extensive public feedback process!

What is CodeNEXT?
CodeNEXT is a rewrite of the City of Austin’s land development code, which dictates what you can build and where. The City of Austin’s current land development code was written in the 1980s, so it was overdue for a rewrite to match today’s Austin.
Transportation Options
Free parking will be provided for attendees; however, alternative methods of transportation are highly encouraged. Palmer Events Center is easily accessible by Capital Metro routes: 1, 7, 5, 10, 20, 30, 110, 801 and bicycle parking is available on both the north and south side entrances to the parking garage.
Sincerely,
