The Stage-1 National Science Foundation (NSF) Civic Innovation Challenge (CIVIC) proposal, “Community-based Gunshot Alert System,” has been awarded to Vanderbilt University. As part of this grant, NACA will receive $10,000 for supporting outreach efforts for community participation.
This Fall (2026) NACA is rallying around our NACA area schools by raising funds to grant as many teacher wish list items as possible. NACA voted to donate $1,000 from our General Fund toward teacher wish lists. They also voted to match an additional $1,000 in community donations, for a total possible $3,000! Donate via Venmo (@naca-austin), PayPal (North Austin Civic Association) or by check to our Treasurer. Just put "schools" in the notes or memo line!
Meeting Agendas are added to the website on the week of the meeting, and are also emailed to members with secure zoom links.
Meeting minutes are typically added to the website after they are approved the following meeting, though drafts may be added sooner.
Members receive a monthly newsletter informing on recent and upcoming actions of the association, and other local information.
Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month [excluding July and December] at 7:00PM. Meetings are a hybrid of in person and remote attendance via Zoom. For security, Zoom links are sent to members only.

Settlement Home, Williamson Family Campus 1607 Colony Creek Drive, Austin, TX 78758 There are two buildings there and the conference room is in the building with a sign that says "Williamson Family Campus".
