The North Austin Civic Association (NACA) is the neighborhood association bounded by Highway 183, Kramer Lane, Metric Boulevard, and North Lamar Boulevard.
Once a suburb named Fiskville, the NACA Neighborhood Planning area was annexed by the City of Austin in the early 1970s. The Quail Creek subdivision was built at this time. The majority of properties here are single-family homes.
The neighborhood association was formed in 1972. Made up of community residents, businesses, and property owners, NACA has been working to improve our quality of life, keep members informed of vital neighborhood issues, and advocate for the common interests of NACA residents for almost 40 years. The neighborhood association members have been responsible for requesting and implementing every public community center in the neighborhood: Little Walnut Library, Quail Creek Park, Ron Rigsby Park, Heron Hollow Pocket Park, and most recently, the North Austin Community Center/Rundberg YMCA.
The North Austin Civic Association is the largest neighborhood association in Austin, both geographically and in population. Approximately 30,000 persons reside within NACA’s boundaries.
As Austin continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, NACA is rapidly becoming an inner-city neighborhood. The NACA neighborhood is densely populated with a higher proportion of rental properties than most Austin neighborhoods.
NACA is one of Austin’s most vibrant and affordable areas, home to a diverse population of retirees, African-Americans, Hispanics, Vietnamese-Americans and recent immigrants from as many as 50 different countries. Join us as we make North Austin a great place to live!
