The City is looking for public input as part of a special project this week on the South Shore of the Lady Bird Lake waterfront–near Auditorium Shores, the Statesman offices, and the future Lady Bird Lake Boardwalk.
The Lady Bird Lake Waterfront Special Project centers on pursuing excellence in urban design and ensuring future development is in harmony with protecting the waterfront and providing public access.
The project area focuses on Lady Bird Lake’s South Shore Central sub-district and adjacent areas. This sub-district, one of 16 in theWaterfront Overlay, is adjacent to Auditorium Shores and includes connections to the Lady Bird Lake Boardwalk and proposed urban rail stops. In addition, the draft Imagine Austin comprehensive plan identifies this area as a future regional growth center.
