Drivers in Georgetown , Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Austin spend millions of hours stuck in traffic each year.

We have a real transportation problem in these communities that make up the North Corridor. Capital Metro and the Project Connect North Team invite you to attend one of two open house meetings to learn more about addressing these problems and help get our region moving again.

Project Connect: North Corridor is an 18-24 month transportation study that will result in the identification of public transportation projects and services to improve mobility and access in the corridor.

Information will be provided about traffic congestion, growth, opportunities and challenges in the corridor, the Alternatives Analysis (AA) process and project timeline. Attendees will also have the opportunity to review materials, speak with staff, consultants and team members, and provide valuable feedback.  No formal presentations will be given.   Attendees are invited to come and go at their convenience.

About Project Connect: North Corridor
Project Connect: North Corridor is the next step of Project Connect, a collaborative effort of the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, the City of Austin , Capital Metro and the Lone Star Rail District to advance regional highcapacity transit for central Texas . The North Corridor is the highest priority of nine corridors identified by Project Connect due to its congestion, the volume of trips headed to downtown Austin , the number of high-density destinations, and the rate of growth.

This federally-funded study of the North Corridor is required before our region can be considered for additional federal support for transportation solutions within the corridor.   Before any improvements can begin, a full range of reasonable alternatives to the project must be studied. During this time, the community will be invited to review the various alternatives in detail and provide their thoughts and ideas.
