On Saturday, June 11, 2011, the Austin Police Department’s Region 2 District Representatives will host a Spanish Community Outreach Meeting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Little Walnut Creek Library, 835 Rundberg Lane.

The focus for the meeting will be for the Parents in the immigrant communities in North Austin to gain knowledge about detecting children in gangs, sexual assaults, and protecting the family.

The Gang Unit will speak about what to look for in your children’s dress attitude, the dangers of gangs and sex crimes on females in gangs. Additionally, the APD Human Trafficking Unit will speak and the district representative officers will talk about 9-1-1/3-1-1 and introduce neighborhood watch contacts.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided at the meeting along with a DJ and information booths.
