Team,
Over the years, we’ve seen how  initiatives on Rundberg can shift the patterns of crime through our neighborhoods.
To ensure we are prepared for the new Resotre Rundberg initiative, I’ve scheduled Watch Training for February.  Elizabeth with the North Austin Rec Center has graciously worked with me and set up a room for us to use on February 9th.
Watch Training – 10:30-12:30
February 9th,  North Austin Rec Center
10:30-10:45 Meet and Greet
10:45-11:45 Watch 101 – Mary Rudig
11:45-12:15 krimelabb – How to be Your Neighborhood’s Crime Statician – Jack Darby
12:15-12:30 Wrap up
Who this training is for: Anybody who is interested in reducing crime and  making their street safer. You don’t have to sign up to be a block captain or a dedicated volunteer to make a difference – you just have to be willing to care about your neighbors and want a safer street and. Also, Watch 101 will walk you through the three ways crime happens in North Austin, and how you can prevent that crime from happening to your family.
As part of the North Austin Coalition of Neighborhood’s Watch training, we do maintain a page with Watch documents and flyers that are free for downloading.
Go to lovenorthaustin.com, click on Watch in a Box, and just scroll down.
Note 1: Although this is Watch Training for North Austin, I am sending this email to other neighborhoods as well. We welcome any and everybody and would love to see all of y’all there!
Note 2: I talked last night to some people who are concerned with crime on specific streets in their neighborhoods. I am always willing to come and teach Watch specifically to neighbors on a single street if needed. Please let me know if you need Watch training for a street, and we’ll work something out!
