The First Annual NxNA Garden Tour is shaping up nicely for June 1 and 2. The tour on Saturday is to promote the livability and beauty of our neighborhoods and the vibrancy of our schools. The schedule tentatively includes 5 school gardens, 1 community garden, and 13 private gardens. They include a variety of gardens for solving any garden dilemma: shade gardens, cottage gardens, natives and wildlife gardens, cacti and succulents, vegetables-fruits and herbs, and they include a variety of water collection systems and watering plans.
Garden Tour – June 1
Garden Talks & Photography Exhibit – June 2
Tickets with maps and descriptions of each garden should be on sale in April-May. Tickets are $10 and get you in to both the Tour on Saturday and the garden talks on Sunday. Proceeds from the tickets and sponsorships go to Austin Voices and will be used by the North Austin Community School Alliance for gardens and beautification of North Austin Schools.
