MINUTES of December Meeting corrected and Ratified.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Brian LaCour

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Clean Streets Committee –  announced a successful January Clean up, next one is February 11th. Report attached
  2. Lamar Blvd Corridor Project – requests a meeting with NACA to introduce planning scenarios that affect the Eastern edge of NACA from 183 to Metric. Jennifer S-G and Melinda S. volunteered to initiate the 1st meeting, with the goal to schedule a presentation during a Monthly Meeting.
  3. Redfield – Will have a designated place on NACA Website for advice on how to report concerns and with updates from the NACA Board on who to contact for further accountability and resolutions. Recommendations made are to call 911 immediately or use the website IREPORTAUSTIN.COM regarding any threat to health, safety, or peace to persons or property.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Elections-Unanimously elected/re-elected to the NACA Board for 2023:
    1. Jared Noble and Randy Teich as Co-Presidents
    2. Jennifer Smith-Gonnabathula Vice President
    3. Brian LaCour, Treasurer
    4. Emily “Missy” Haworth, Secretary

  1. 2023 Vision Workshop-ideas and contact persons posted in 5 categories of NACA activity. (Thank you Brian for transcribing. Please attach)
  2. NACA Website – training will be offered to new officers, Paypal is working for membership payments.
  3. Membership Drive – April and May, POC John Green
  4. Flood Plain meeting with COA- will be attended by Jennifer S-G and Mark Grayson
  5. Recording and posting Monthly Meetings- will begin in February. Brain LaC and Jonathan will coordinate. President will announce to attendees this change.
  6. A second business on the SE corner of Parkfield and Rutland has applied for a TABC license to sell alcohol. Neighbors have received notice in the mail. But NACA reps have not yet been contacted.

Announcements Item #1 – Clean Streets Committee Report January 2023

  • 13 volunteers participated to include our newest members: Soo and her daughter Sophia, as well as James.
  • At least 19 bags worth of litter collected (this does not count countless aluminum cans and beer bottles)
  • Items of interest: a penny, several unused diapers (and one used ☹), a huge black plastic pot, some piping held together with bright red tape,  6 cardboard 6-pack beer cartons with bottles in the cartons
  • We covered the following areas:
    • A tiny segment of the creek behind Colony Creek and Meadow Vale = 33.5 pounds of trash in that area alone
    • Jamestown area
    • Briardale and Ohlen/Payton Gin intersection (across from gas station)
    • Payton Gin/Hunters Trace area
    • Trone Circle to 183 on Payton Gin
    • Perimeter of Cook Elementary School
    • Mearns Meadow from Parkfield to Mountain Quail
    • Perimeter of Wooldridge Elementary School
    • Mearns Meadow between Parkfield and Rutland

The winner of the Alamo Draft House gift card is Erica Hannan. Woot! I will connect with you to drop off the prize.

We are slated to do an independent clean-up again during the weekend of Feb 11th. Any feedback you have on how to make these independent clean-ups better is appreciated! In March we will meet as a group and are scheduled to clean up Payton Gin (we will meet for tacos afterwards).
